In an ideal world, we would live in the country where the language we want to learn is spoken. However, we know that this isn't possible for everyone, and that's okay for those who live there and those who don't. It's possible to learn and improve each week with small daily habits like reading regularly, writing intentionally, and speaking without fear. If you don't like writing, then listen a lot: music, podcasts, short audio clips. If you have the opportunity to take online or in-person classes, your difficulties will be identified, and you can practice with exercises adapted to you. You will gain more confidence quickly.
Listen, listen, listen, and repeat! Just as a native speaker learns by ear, you too can learn a lot by repeating what you hear. It is in this area that you will learn to express yourself like a native, with the right vocabulary, without being stuck with literal translations that don't work most of the time.
